Imphal, 12 March 2018,(DIPR): As a part of “Inauguration Fortnight” to mark 1st Anniversary of BJP led Government, Power Minister Shri Thongam Biswajit today inaugurated 33/11 KV sub-station at Mayangkhang, Ningthoupham in Kangpokpi District.

The Minister maintained that power is indispensable in development activities and the sub-station is inaugurated with an aim to supply uninterrupted power to the villagers. The project is funded by NEC and was constructed with an expenditure of Rs 9.63 crore. The villages to be supplied electricity from the sub-station are Mayangkhang, Mayangkhang Khunou, Taphou Kuki, T.Khullen, Kailenjang, Hengbung, Makui Mayangkhang and Mayangkhang Ningthoupham.

The Minister continued that the biggest achievement of the government is restoration of peace in the State. Peace is very necessary for growth and progress and the government has succeeded to bridge the gap between the hill and the valley. The main objective of the government is to serve the last man in the queue. The government is able to reduce bandh and blockade by 80% and also sought constructive suggestion from the public.

He further explained about the benefit of Ujaala Yojana and Saubhagya Scheme. Ujaala Yojana was launched with an aim to save energy, income and our environment. He also instructed concerned officials to distribute 200 LED bulbs and 50 tube lights to the needy people.

Wind Mill Power generation will be taken up soon in the state and seven locations has been identified where Wind Mill Power project will be taken up. Twenty Five locations has been identified for Mini Hydro Power projects and each project will be generating 5-25 MW, he added.

Replying to the memorandum submitted during the inauguration Minister gave assurance for black topping the Approach road to the sub-station and electrification of Community Hall of Mayangkhang, Ningthoupham.

Addressing the gathering, Social Welfare Minister Smt. Nemcha Kipgen stated that the government is able to bring all round development at the hill and in the valley. At the same time the government is able to built trust among the different communities residing in the state. She also appealed to the locals to take benefits of various schemes of social Welfare and Cooperation Department.

The inauguration were attended by PHED/ Printing & Stationary Minister Shri Losii Dikho, Ex-Minister Francis Ngajokpa, Deputy Commissioner of Kangpoki Shri Pradeep Chandren, officials of MSPCL,MSPDCL and locals of Mayangkhang, Ningthoupham.(DIPR)
