LEADERS SHOULD INVEST IN EFFORTS TO MAKE THE PUBLIC AVAIL OF THE GOVERNMENT SCHEMES: K SHYAM

GOVERNMENT CANNOT WORK ALONE WITHOUT PUBLIC SUPPORT: K SHYAM

CHANDEL, April 04, 2022 (DIPR): CAF & PD, Revenue Minister Shri Karam Shyam said that more a hundred schemes are launched by the new Government under Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. In a Chieftainship Coronation ceremony of Mr Bemong Shilshi and Mrs. Sr Akim Shilshinu held today at the village community hall of Mantri Pantha Village, Chandel , he questioned whether  these schemes benefit the public at large.

He stressed on the role of the leaders to make the public aware of these schemes so that they can benefit from the same.

Hon’ble MLA,Tamenglong A/C(ST),Shri Samuel Jendai Kamei; Vice Chairman, ADC-Chandel, Shri Th Joy Lamkang and President, LNKK, Shri D Thamdok took chairs at the function as Guest of Honour, Functional President and Oath Minister respectively.

Highlighting that the election process is a part of democracy, Minister K Shyam  stated that it is the duty of the elected leaders to work for the welfare of the people and make them aware of their rights.

Speaking at the occasion as Chief Guest, he supported Chief Minister Shri N Biren’s “Go to Village” mission held yesterday at the Darbar Hall, Chief Minister’s Secretariat yesterday.

He also pointed out that the State will become financially independent and economically viable only when we make proper utilisation of the land resources by producing horticulture, animal husbandry, vegetable products & other items with  right effort and proper planning.

On the issue of promoting State Tourism, Minister  Shyam pointed out that we should have a space in our hearts for tourism and avoid creating disturbances so as to develop this sector at the same standard as in other parts of the globe like Sweden and Australia.

Government cannot work alone without public support and right approach is needed to bring in the much-needed political change, he assured.

As regard demarcation of Chandel District, he convinced that the revenue district will always be for the people of the concerned district with proper land records. Just like in the case of Jiri District where around 59 Settlement staff are engaged in the survey of the whole district, a similar process can be taken up in Chandel District also, he said.

Appreciating the present BJP-led Government for bringing about certain glimpses of change in Manipur, MLA Samuel Jendai appealed Minister K Shyam to look into the matter relating to the revenue demarcation of Chandel District.

The Chieftainship Coronation function was moderated by Mr. K. Wangshot while D Thamdok took charge as the Oath Minister.

Cultural Choir was performed including an item from trumpeters Mr.D.Motit & Co.

Minister K Shyam along with the other dignitaries also took part in a light dance session at the end of the ceremony.

A memorandum was also submitted to the Minister during the function.(DIPR)
