23rd March, DIO, Senapati : In continuation of the tripartite talks among Government of Manipur, Central Government and United Naga Council (UNC) on the District creation issue, a meeting was held at DRDA conference Hall, Senapati Distict Headquarters, today.
In today’s meeting it was agreed that the state government will finalize its stand on UNC demands by the 10th of April, 2018 and will inform the Central Government and UNC about it.
It was also agreed upon that the next round of talks will be held on 27th April l2018.
The meeting besides three Cabinet Ministers Shri. V.hangkhanlian,Minister Agriculture,Shri.N.Kayisii, Minister tribal and Hill Area Developmentand Shri. Thokchom Radheshyam Singh Minister Education from the side of the State Government it was also attended by Gaidon kamei, President, UNC, S.Milan, Gen. Secretary, UNC, Seth Shatsang President All Naga Students’ Association, Manipur, Asha Wungnam, President Naga Women’s Union from UNC’s side, Dr .J. Suresh Babu, Additional Chief Secretary, GOM, T.Ranjit Singh, Secretary (Revenue) GOM and Satyendra Garg, Joint Secretary (NE), Ministry of Home Affairs, GOI from the side of Government of India.(DIPR)
