EVERYONE SHOULD PRESERVE AND PROTECT THEIR IDENTITY: MINISTER JAYANTAKUMAR

Imphal, April 6, 2022 (DIPR): Art & Culture Minister Shri L. Jayantakumar Singh said it is everyone’s duty to preserve and protect their identity. Minister was speaking as the Chief Guest at the Anniversary of King Kangba at Kangmong at Imphal West under Konthoujam A/C today organized by King Kangba Khubam Sinlup, Kangmong.

He stated that preserving and protecting our own identity is a march ahead. It is our pride that we are still following the age-old tradition and philosophy.

He further stated that inspite of being a small state, we should be proud of our rich heritage. Our culture and sports is defining the status of our State.

Mentioning about King Kangba, Minister Jayantakumar asserted that above the introduction of Polo to World, the game of Khong Kangjei and Kang was also his gift to the world, which is worth appreciating. The memorial site of King Kangba at Kangmong will be preserved and developed under the Historical Monument Act at the earliest. He entrusted the King Kangba Khubam Sinlup, the committee looking after the memorial site, to take up initiative with a bold stand to develop the site. Minister also assured to provide all possible help from the Government.

Today’s function was also attended by MLA Konthoujam A/C, Dr. S Ranjan Singh and MLA Keirao A/C Shri L. Rameshwor Meetei, Zilla Parishad Member, Yarou Bamdiyar Samom Manglembi, Pradhan, Kangmong Gram Panchayat Thangjam Thoiba as President and Guests of Honour respectively.   (DIPR)
