MISSION DRUG PREVENTION & CONTROL CAMPAIGN LAUNCHED

BISHNUPUR, October 20, 2021 (DIPR): Mission Drug Prevention and Control was launched today at Kwakta Bazaar to strengthen action and cooperation to achieve the goal of a society free of drug abuseChurachandpur and Bishnupur district. The launching of the campaign aims to raise awareness to fight against the substance abuse as well as the unlawful trade of drugs in the districts.

Speaking on the occasion, P. Saratchandra Singh, Hon’ble MLA stated that drug menace is a challenged to be fought jointly by the citizens, armed forces and public representatives. “This is a challenged we have to give it to ourselves, we should save our family” he stated. On illicit trafficking and selling of drugs, he stated that there is alternative source of livelihood which is better than selling drugs. He urged the participants to save the society from drugs, to protect the environment to ensure our civilization is saved from extinction.

As part of the campaign, Anti-Drug Cycle Rally was organized with placards and banners from Churachandpur, Phubala Bazaar, Mukta High School of Moirang and Santhong Bazar to Kwakta Bazaar. Spot painting was also organized by Mission Drug Prevention & Control to raise awareness among the students. 107 students of Class VI to X from 8 schools participated in the competition. Ph. S. Devi, LCM High School, Keisham Tennyson Singh and Y. Samir Singh of Little Birds School bagged the First, Second and Third prizes in the competition respectively.

S. Bira Singh, Hon’ble MLA, L. Radhakishore Singh, Chairman, PCB, T. Robindro Singh, Chairman, PDA, Counselors, Pradhans and district level officers from Churachandpur and Bishnupur districts attended the function.
