Imphal, 22nd January, 2020(DIPR):-Law & Legislative Affairs Minister Shri L. Jayantakumar Singh has inaugurated Public Prosecutor Office, Senapati today. This is the second inauguration of its kind in the state after the inauguration of Public Prosecutor Office, Imphal. The new building is constructed under the work agency of MANIDCO with a sanctioned amount of around Rupees 76(Seventy Six Lacs). It has also been completed in the stipulated time, he added.

Speaking at the occasion as chief guest Shri Jayantakumar Singh said that there are many areas to be developed in this sector. But taking up new policies and developmental projects will take time. Things will have to be done on priority basis. The state government and Law department is very much keen to take up new initiatives and new actions to have a world class judicial system in the state. He also maintain that to know the rule of prudence is more important than reading of many law books as citizens need to be prudent and also act prudently.

Explaining the role of the lawyers, Minister said that people need to see the white part of the lawyers lying under the black coat which the lawyers are using as their code dress. Minister said that many of the section of people have a misconception towards the lawyers. But the profession of lawyers is very much humble. The duty assigned to the judges, justice and public prosecutors is to find the truth. This should be understood and maintained by the legal fraternities in order to enlighten the public and maintain peace and tranquillity in the society, minister added.

In every procedures of law there is thesis, antithesis and synthesis which are to be followed while making a concrete decision or judgement. A good lawyer or a judge needs to adopt a dialectical process. Judicial part is very much powerful. Sincere and ethical service by the fraternities of legal department will amount a desire growth in many sectors of the government, he added.

Taking a note on the reports of death of three persons by an unknown disease at Kamjong area of Ukhrul District, Minister Jayantakumar said that an expert team of the state health department has been sent for investigation and to prepare a detailed report of the incident. Necessary steps will be taken on the basis of the investigating committee, minister added.
