IMPHAL, 17th December, 2018(DIPR):-Health and Family Welfare Minister Shri L. Jayantakumar Singh has said that without any service, one shouldstop thinking of a gain. Rendering a good service will have its positive outcome. We should not sit idle at home. Instead one should ask whether he/she has done anything good for the day, he added.

Minister L. Jayantakumar Singh was speaking as the chief guest at the Foundation Laying ceremony for the construction of Drug Testing Laboratory and a Homeopathy Pharmacy at Keirao Khunou of Imphal east Diatrict. He said that after the completion of the Homeopathy Pharmacy and Drug Testing Laboratory, the people in and around Keirao will be able to generate employment and their income by growing medicinal plants. 

Mentioning about the herbal values available in the state minister Jayantakumar said that medicinal plants grown in different parts of the state, especially in the hilly terrains, remains useless due to lack of knowledge and awareness. The recently concluded AROGYA FAIR, 2018 at Imphal will give an opportunity to the farmers about the importance and prospects of the medicinal herbs found in the state.

Minister was also explaining about the importance of AYUSH. He said that AYUSH system of treatment is not only cost effective but also more convenient to public as it is also associated with nature care.

Speaking at the occasion as special guest of honour, MLA, Keirao Assembly Constituency Shri L. Rameshwor Meetei said that acknowledging its poor health facilities in Keirao A/C, the present government is constructing a Fifty (50) Bedded Hospital Ayush Hospital, a Homeopathy College apart laying of foundation stone for the construction of Drug Testing Laboratory and a Homeopathy Pharmacy. Rameshwar Meetei also lauded the sincere efforts of the health minister for taking initiative to improve health system of the people of Keirao and around.

Giving presidential speech Shri Rang Peter, Joint Secy. Health maintained that the public should think that the infrastructures set up for the benefit of the people as their own asset. The safeguard of the infrastructures remains in the hands of the locals, he added.

The foundation laying ceremony was also attended by Director AYUSH Dr. A. Guneshwar Sharma, Director Sericulture, K.K. Singh and Dr. Y. Lukhoi Singh as guests of honour. Staff and officials from AYUSH department and local representatives also attended the function. (DIPR)
