THE GOVERNMENT ADOPTS AN OPEN DOOR POLICY TO PUBLIC GRIEVANCES : MINISTER K SHYAM
Imphal, November 11, 2021(DIPR): Minister, CAF & PD, Revenue , Shri Karam Shyam expressed that experts in the realm of Handlooms and Textiles are indeed endowed with the creativity and design potential to carve a unique identity of Manipur on the global map.
He was speaking as Chief Guest at the Day 7 of MANITEX, The Manipur International Textile Expo organised by the Directorate of Handlooms & Textiles, Government of Manipur at Manipur Trade & Expo Centre, Lamboikhongnangkhong, Imphal today.
Chairman, MHHDC Ltd., Manipur, Shri S.Rajen Singh; Principal Secretary(TC & I), Shri P.Vaiphei, IAS ; Additional Chief Secretary, Dr. Suhel Akhtar, IAS and Senior General Manager, LMW, Coimbatore, Shri Ramanadene also graced the dais at the function as President, Special Guest and Guests of Honour respectively.
Appreciating the role played by the women folks of the State in bringing development in the State,Minister Karam Shyam stated that Manipur will improve only when their financial condition show progress.
He also appealed the public to not depend only on the Industry Minister alone but rather make their grievances and complaints known to any Minister or official.
“In this highly competitive, fast-moving, global world, the public can have direct access in order to engage in activities they wish to acquire”, he also said.
MANITEX is a great platform for promoting the survival & revival of the deteriorating situation of Handlooms & Textiles Industries of the State, he assured.
Dr.Ch. Ibohal, MIMS, MU, who was the resource person on E-Marketing , spoke by touching on the key points of marketing strategy like USP, creating a brand image, economies of scale and organising design workshops that will enhance our competitiveness in the global arena.
Globizs Director, Roshinikumar Yambem shared his personal experiences as a rising entrepreneur and briefed on the various success stories of online marketing.
He also said that the market in China is really booming with E-Commerce platforms like Ali Baba that sell around Rs. 34 billion dollars in just 24 hours.
Shri L Budhabir Singh of Panthoibi.com along with some other leading entrepreneurs of Manipur briefed the gathering on the know- how of on-line marketing and selling.
Smt. Thoudam Shanti Devi of Kwairamband Keithel Saktam Kanba Lup and Smt. Th Rani Devi of Kwairamband Keithel, Sinpham Kanba Lup were awarded cash prize of Rs. 1 lakh each for their remarkable contribution in the field of Handlooms and Handicrafts.
There was also slide/video show on MANITEX and Handlooms and Textiles during the function.
Around 150 stalls participated in the Handloom Expo.
Officials of different departments of Manipur apart from staff of Handlooms and Textiles Department also took part in the function. (DIPR)
